Who we are
Mi Piel Beauty is operated by Jorge Villavicencio in Whitby, Ontario. For privacy questions or requests, contact mipielbeautyca@gmail.com or 289-356-0561.
Enquiries and appointments
We collect contact details and information you provide to respond to enquiries, help with appointments and provide services. Advertising forms may ask about your preferred service, timing, ability to attend in Whitby and whether the displayed price suits your budget. Please do not submit medical information through advertising forms. Sending an enquiry does not confirm an appointment.
Fresha handles bookings and payments. Associated information may include your service, appointment time, contact details and booking or payment status. Informed treatment consent forms are completed and stored in Fresha.
Photographs and your choices
Client photographs are stored on the business owner’s phone and synchronized with Apple iCloud. Our consent form offers three advertising choices: permission to use photographs, no permission, or permission limited to a cropped view of the eye area without the full face. Advertising use must respect the recorded choice. Cropping does not necessarily make a photograph anonymous. Contact us to change or withdraw your permission; we will explain the effect on future use and material already published.
Service providers
We use Wix for our website, Fresha for bookings, payments and consent forms, Apple iCloud for photo synchronization, and Meta and Google tools for advertising and measurement. These providers may process information needed for their services and have their own privacy policies. Processing may occur outside Canada, where information may be subject to local laws. Information may also be disclosed when required or permitted by law.
Cookies and advertising measurement
Connected tools include Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta technologies. Depending on your choices and the tools in use, these may collect device and browser information, pages visited, referrals and booking-related actions to measure performance and support advertising audiences. Browser settings and any available site privacy controls can help manage cookies. Google and Meta also provide advertising preferences. You can contact us directly about appointments.
Communications
We use enquiry details to follow up about the service requested. Separate promotional communications will be handled according to applicable consent requirements. You may ask us to stop sending promotional messages.
Retention and protection
We will retain information only as needed for its stated purpose and applicable recordkeeping obligations, then securely delete or anonymize it where appropriate. We will use safeguards appropriate to the information and restrict access to those who need it for their work. No internet service guarantees absolute security.
Access and privacy requests
Contact us to request access, corrections, withdrawal of consent or information about our practices. We may verify your identity. Legal or contractual restrictions may limit a request or require retention of certain records; we will explain applicable limitations. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Updates
We may update this policy when our practices change. The revision date appears at the top of this page.
Consent records and annual photo review
Within Mi Piel Beauty, only the owner accesses client consent forms and photographs. The service providers described above store or process information as needed for their services. Our stated retention practice for treatment consent forms is a maximum of five years, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations. This is not a blanket retention period for photographs.
We will review client photographs annually. Treatment photographs will be retained while needed for documented treatment follow-up or applicable recordkeeping obligations. Advertising photographs will be retained for advertising only while there is a current, authorized use. We will stop advertising use if the client withdraws permission and address removal from channels we control. A separate need to retain a treatment record does not authorize continued advertising use.
Photographs no longer needed for either purpose will be deleted from the devices and iCloud storage we control, taking account of synchronized copies and the provider’s deletion and recovery processes. We will retain the relevant record of photo-use permission while relying on that permission and for any applicable recordkeeping period.
Optional advertising conversion measurement
With your permission, Mi Piel Beauty may use your email address and/or telephone number, together with a booking reference and conversion time, to help measure whether Google Ads contributed to a qualifying paid booking. We may share this information with Google for advertising conversion measurement.
Contact details are normalised and converted into SHA-256 hashes for matching. Hashing does not make this information anonymous. Google may process the information outside Canada.
We do not send treatment notes, medical history, health information, photographs or answers from clinical consent forms for this purpose.
This permission is optional and separate from treatment consent, photo permission and consent to receive promotional emails or text messages. Declining does not affect your ability to book or receive services. This permission does not authorise personalised advertising or adding you to advertising audiences.
You may withdraw permission for future sharing by contacting mipielbeautyca@gmail.com or (289) 356-0561. Withdrawal does not automatically undo processing already completed; we will explain any applicable limitations.
